DJ Jamie Hurst
Meet New York DJ Jamie Hurst
Jamie Hurst, aka “DJ Thrift”, was born into music with his grandfather having been a superb lounge musician entertaining swingsters through the late 40’s and early 50’s with organ and song. By age seven Jamie was receiving weekly doses of 45’s and tuning into WABC radio for “The Hits.” Drums soon followed and Jamie settled into a deep groove at The Berkley College of Music in Boston, which led to a ten-year stint of rock drumming and “oh-so-close” record deals with labels like EMI and Columbia.
Jamie expanded his creative palette with extensive travels to Europe and the East Village for new vinyl, and he prides himself in bringing all of his life’s experiences and musical knowledge to your table. With an extensive vinyl collection, Jamie has the music and provides all the knowledge, passion and experience that will ensures success for your event.

What Clients Say About DJ Jamie
“We had previous experiences with JTD and at those events the music selection was excellent, as was the incorporation of our requests. This year the music selection was spot on (as always) and Jamie’s ability to assess the crows was excellent!”

Hey Jamie,
“Gotta take a quick moment to tell you what a great job you did on Saturday. I’m getting phone calls and e-mail from our guest tell us what an amazing time they all had, and that is in no small part due to your efforts and true professionalism…!”
Thanks again. Tara and I are off to Italy…

Jamie,
“We have just returned from honeymoon, and are finally in the company of a steady internet connection 🙂 So, we did not want to waste another moment before sharing the biggest, hugest thanks for your work on our wedding!??Truly, we could not have been paired with a better DJ: you were totally into our tastes in music, exceptional on the meeting-and-follow-up tip, and ideal on the mic and turntables. You kept it mellow when need by, hyped it up when the moment was right, and read the crowd like a book. In short, you rock at what you do. We just received the survey from JTD, and you can bet we will translate our effusive praise into a big gold star on the report card, so to speak 🙂 ??Take very good care, and best wishes for autumn!”

Jamie,
“Thank you so much for a FANTASTIC job. Every song you played made us happy. Thanks for all the time and patience to go through with Mary to find the right music. This was obviously much more than a “job” and more like music. Your presence and sensitivity to the moment, as promised, was fantastic. You made memories.”
Can’t thank you enough.
Best,
John

Hi Jamie,
“I just wanted to add my thanks. We all had such a wonderful time last Saturday, and as you know better than any of us, music sets the tone for a great event. We loved the choices, the mix and most of all The Man. We’d be delighted to recommend you to other Future Very Satisfied Customers.”
All the best,

Jamie,
“I can’t tell you how many compliments we got regarding the music – people had a great time. Even with our small crowd, we managed to dance a storm up. My gang really enjoyed the 80’s flashback and we did as well – it was totally our type of scene . . .”
Thank you so much my man~

“Thank you so much for providing us with the exact melodious atmosphere we were looking for on our wedding day. It was precisely what we wanted. The planning process was a joy to work with and I really liked your internet-based song list. It made things so much easier. Thank you for being a part of the” behind the scenes” aspect of our wedding day.”

“The video was a HUGE success. Dean was really blown away by it, as was his family. Seemingly with every slide came ooh and ahhs and laughs . . . it was a really magical experience. Thanks so much for putting it all together. It was great talking with Dave, Michael and you on Friday night. . . I really believe that you guys really “get” what we’re trying to do with the music.”
